Healthy Champorado

On cool mornings, especially during the weekend, champorado is a great way for your child to start the day. While the warmth of this dish is possibly the best part, the delicious chocolate goodness is a sure way to make sure your child finishes everything in his bowl!

Ingredients:

1 cup brown rice, oatmeal or barley
3 cups water
1/2 cup cocoa powder (dark)
1/2 cup honey or agave syrup
1/2 cup of skim milk

Steps:

Combine brown rice and water in a small pot and bring to a boil for 10 minutes while stirring occasionally to keep the rice from sticking to the bottom of the pot.

Stir the cocoa powder and honey or agave syrup into the rice. Reduce heat to low, and cover and stir occasionally. Continue cooking until the rice is tender for about 10 minutes more. Add milk and stir to combine. Serve hot with tapa or grilled fish and a glass of Lactum 3+/6+, now made even healthier with Healthy-Nutri Blend*!

Yields 6 servings.
